Reviews from Customers – Does it help?
Do you like this story?
It is more important now to find out
what other people are saying about your business than developing promotional
strategies inside your conference room. You may be the owner of a renowned
multinational or a local restaurant; it is successful only if people talk good
about it. Because the moment people say good things about your business, other
people would be interested to try it out for their needs. So are you collecting
the reviews from your customers? If not yet, let me tell you where you are
missing out.
There are websites like Yelp,
foursquare, and many others, which are dedicated to customer reviews and
discussions on their forums. You will find hundreds and even thousands of
people reviewing a particular restaurant, theatre, shopping destination,
website, etc for everyone else to know. These reviews and feedback can be both
negative as well as positive. Negative reviews or criticism are not always bad
for your business as long as you keep a tab on them. The moment you see anyone
talking negative or complaining about your business, take time to understand
the issue and post a reply immediately before it spreads like wildfire. Many
websites post links as well that connect your site with them so that customers
have a firsthand view of the business website being talked about.
Reviews and feedback are a blessing
in disguise. The only thing you need to maintain consistently is unparallel
service and product delivery for which your customers would never shift their
base to your competitors. Moreover, the moment you do something wrong and your
customers point it out, make sure you rectify it. It may be bad service or low
quality product. Once you rectify, you win the faith and trust of your
customers and they would themselves take the responsibility of promoting your business.
Yes it’s true and has taken place a number of times for many businesses!
Feedback that you receive from your
customers can be put up on your website itself for first time visitors to see.
It is obvious that they will be relying on your customer’s testimonials more
than relying on what you say. Many companies who are into service based
businesses have very effectively utilized customer reviews on their homepages
so that it is visible on the landing page itself or in a separate page. To give
you few examples, check out the websites of TricycleMedia and BusinessPro Designs. Both are website designing companies with a very good track
record as visible from their satisfied clients’ testimonials.
Remember one thing – the customer
feedback that you receive acts as the validation for the promises that you
make. If you are sure that you are delivering as you promised then try
generating as much reviews as possible to promote your claims. These reviews
can also be in the form of videos or you can make customers post their pictures
on your website while they use your product or service. These will just add to
the validation process for new visitors on your website. Hence you can only
imagine the power of customer reviews for your business. It can make or break
your business so be careful in what you promise and what you deliver to the end
user. Promote your reviews and see your business grow in no time!

Review of customers are really helpful but reviews must be posted by original users.
